Hasselblad Heaven!!!

I am a convert. I rented a Hasselblad 503CW with the Carl-Zeiss 150 f4 lens this past weekend. I shot a beauty test with it, loving the "professionalism" of shooting with a medium format, hated the nervousness of not knowing how the film looked and having to wait four days, and now having finally seen the film, I am a firm believer!

I never knew. I had no idea that an image could look so amazing! I had no idea that it was possible to do a shoot with a moving, live human using manual focus, and that I might actually run into the problem of having images be too sharp! The beauty shoot came out with too much detail for my liking (but I can unsharpen a lens with many different methods), but the simple snapshots I took blew me away!!!

I'm loosing a bit of color saturation with the web, and the color of the scan is a little more magenta than the film, but these images have a quality that I have DEFINITELY been missing with my digital. In fact, I am so amazed that I am going back to take similar images with my digital tomorrow... I'll post the comparison shots sid by side once I get back.

Wow dude WOW!
